Salisbury Station Car Park

Avon Construction were contracted by South Western Railway  to Design and Build an 88 Bay Car Park adjacent to Salisbury Train Station. The car park was built on Network Rail’s East Good Yard and is used as an over-flow car park  for the station.

The design of the car park required close liaison with Network Rail, South Western Railway and Royal Mail (who share the access road). Network Rail’s approval and sign-off was required throughout the design stage and the construction phase.

The main elements of construction included tarmac roads; gravel filled parking bays; deep drainage; connection to existing sewer; ducting; new electrical supply; street lights; CCTV; fencing; signage, and road markings.

The car park was opened in April 2025.
