Monks Hill & Salterns Groyne Repairs

Contracted by Fareham Council, Avon Construction were employed to carry out repairs to 30no. timber groynes at Monks Hill and Salterns foreshore in Hampshire. The scope of works for the repairs varied between new plank installation, removal and replacement of defected planks, cutting off of corroded bolts and installation of rubbing boards to king piles. The works were programmed to be undertaken before the end of June 2025 to avoid the peak usage of the seafront. Works carried out on tidal working shifts to optimise the working window. Daily safe system of works were installed at each works location to protect the public from the works activities.
