Lightning Protection, Tradebe Fawley

Contracted by Tradebe, Avon Construction were awarded the contract to assist with various lightning protection measures at their waste disposal facility in Fawley, Hampshire. Primary works involved the design and construction of a reinforced concrete foundation for the installation of a 25m high lightning mast. This included the excavation and backfilling of 15no earthing pits for copper mattresses and 25no core holes and backfilling for earthing rods. Works were co-ordinated to align with the client’s earthing contractors’ programme whilst maintaining continued access throughought the waste disposal plant during our works.

The project was successfully completed in May 2026 to the client’s programme and budget.
