Langstone Sea Wall

Contracted by Havant Borough Council, Avon Construction were contracted to undertake brickwork repairs to a failed section of seawall between Wade Lane and Mill Pond, Langstone. The existing condition of wall presented with failed foundations, missing brickwork, large open voids and open mortar joints that was contributing to a failing sea wall.

The contracted works consisted of raking out and repointing some 60m2 of jointing with M12 mortar, casting new seawall foundations, bricking up open voids and mass fill concrete behind brick wall.

The site presented with a multitude of environmental sensitivities, therefore all work was undertaken using hand tools as no mechanical plant was permitted on the foreshore.

Works were delivered September 2025 during tidal working patterns on time to the client’s requirements.
