Our integrated management system enables us to plan and manage all our work to the highest standards. In addition, we retain the services of 4See Ltd who provide the expert advice and consultation required on H&S and Environmental matters. Avon Construction has Key Performance Indicators that include H&S, Quality and Environmental targets.

Avon Construction is committed to the highest standards of Health and Safety. The directly employed workforce are all CSCS card holders and trained and qualified in relevant H&S matters. Typically operatives will hold PTS (Personal Track Safety), First Aid, CAT scanning, Mobile Towers and other tickets relevant on their area of work. The company has a Construction Skills approved training schedule and undertakes an extensive training programme with records maintained on a central database. Site Managers and Supervisors are SMSTS qualified.

Avon Construction operates an integrated management system that includes quality assurance procedures in line with ISO 9001. This is audited annually by Achilles RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme) and reviewed by Constructionline with a further Audit under the SSIP scheme by Acclaim. The procedures include the production of Project Quality Management Plans incorporating Inspection and Test Plans

Avon Construction operates detailed environmental procedures as part of the integrated management system. These procedures include Environmental Management Plans and emergency procedures, Waste Management Plans and procedures. The company has undertaken numerous Environment Agency Schemes and has worked extensively in SSSI sites, obtaining EA approvals and working with protected plants and animal species. Over the last few years we have been involved in the creation of several SANG schemes working to the highest environmental standards and complementing the natural habitat.
