The Viaduct carries the railway line that runs from Brockenhurst in the New Forest to the Isle of Wight Ferry over Lymington River. The works required formal approval from the Environment Agency and involved the use of workboats and attendant safety boats throughout. The scope of works included brickwork stitching and masonry repairs, deep masonry repointing with an acrylic mortar, steel repairs and the replacement of machined hardwood bearers.
