The Catchment trays located under the ventilation shafts divert the ground water percolating through the shaft brickwork into the track drainage system. The contract involved the installation of the steel decking, gutters and flashings, and the drainage all within the limited track possessions. The use of running lifelines and harnesses allowed safe working at height and a temporary scaffold ramp enabled materials to be raised quickly from track level.
