ENVIRONMENTAL

Avon Construction is fast developing an excellent reputation for the construction of environmentally sensitive projects. In the last 12 months alone, we have undertaken a number of projects for the environment agency, many of which have required the use of unorthodox construction techniques and stringent environment controls:-

• 12 no. trash screens at separate sites across Eastleigh and the New Forest. Concrete and brickwork structures in rivers and overflows including sites of special scientific interest.

• Flood alleviation scheme at Lymington, Hampshire. Reinforced concrete, blockwork, sheet piling works and timber structures.

• Oak canoe platform on timber piles on the River Medway in East Peckham, Kent

• Concrete canoe platform on riverbank in Yalding, Kent

As well as these, we have carried out several projects on the River Avon for Bournemouth & West Hants Water, and we have been nominated as one of the contractors on the Environment Agency Minor Works Framework, which could involve at least 3 years similar work in the south of England.
